Dear BriskFlow Client,

We would like to inform you that, effective 1 May 2025, South Africa’s VAT (Value Added Tax) rate will increase from 15% to 15.5%.

BriskFlow Platform Updates

To ensure a smooth transition, BriskFlow will automatically update the VAT rate to 15.5% for the following items on 1 May 2025:

1. New and “Sent to Client” Quotes

2. Pending Jobs (Unscheduled)

3. Scheduled Jobs dated 1 May 2025 and onwards

4. Invoices dated 1 May 2025 and onwards

Important Action Required

Please ensure that any jobs scheduled on or before 30 April 2025 are completed and invoiced before 1 May 2025.

Any job invoiced from 1 May 2025 onward will be subject to the new VAT rate of 15.5%, regardless of when it was scheduled.

While BriskFlow will handle the technical adjustments on the platform, it remains your responsibility to ensure that all transactions are processed in line with the new VAT rate.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team.

Kind regards,

The BriskFlow Team

SAGE ONE - VAT Update: Sage has your back - compliance sorted!

As part of scheduled maintenance, Sage will automatically update the default VAT rate from 15.00% to 15.50% for all new and existing companies.

For New Companies:

Any company created on or after 1 May 2025 will automatically have the updated 15.50% VAT rate applied as the default. No further action is required.

For Existing Companies (created before 1 May 2025):

While the system will update the default VAT rate, users will also need to manually update VAT rates in the following areas:

  • Customer, Supplier, Item, and Account Masterfile's

  • Bank Mapping Rules

  • Quick Entry Rules

  • Recurring Invoices

  • Recurring Journals

To make this process easier, a bulk update option will be available in each of the areas listed above.

When the user logs into their existing companies for the first time after the maintenance is complete, a comprehensive in-product help guide will be provided to assist with these updates.
